A LIGHT SOURCE
.
My glass murals do not have to be self lit. They simply need lighting played onto the murals from the ceiling above.
.
However, the lighting formula that I use is quite unique. In these murals, AMETHYST here, and STIBNITE MINERALS below, the light contributes to illuminating the location. It also adds vibrancy, and brings the murals alive.
.
Close-up of this mirrored glass mural shows a strong reflection from the windows.
.
The mirror is carved and painted both front and back, and there are applied additional slumped pieces of colored glass to the surface. All carved areas are infused with light.
NO strategic back light
This is the glass mural ORION IN CHAINS without a strategically placed light source behind the glass. It is different, but equally beautiful to the example below.
.
WITH strategic back light
The same mural with carving, painting and back lighting. The color is warmer, depending on color applied to the back.

*The camera has not captured the colors entirely accurately.
